Shepherding By Prayer |
Dear Prayer Warriors,
Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for our church family. Your prayers are a blessing. We have added many new members. Please continue to pray for each assigned family at least once a week for approximately 5 minutes.
Subjects for prayer:
- Matt. 6:9-13, (the Lord's prayer) daily bread, forgiveness, guidance, victory over temptation and sin.
- Jas. 5:13-16, pray for the sick.
- I Tim. 2:1-4, pray for all men, for all authority, for the salvation of sinners.
- Dan. 6:18-23, pray for personal safety and safety of others.
- I Kings 3:5-9, pray for wisdom and understanding.
- Matt. 6:25-34, pray for clothing, shelter and food.
- Eph. 6:18, be guided by the Holy Spirit in our praying.
Truly, prayer is a weapon of warfare. Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:10-18 to remind us of the unseen world that comes against us daily to destroy our marriages, to turn our children away from God and to destroy our testimony for God and so Paul wrote, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil...praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints." Eph. 6:19,11 & 18
The prayer of others, for us, are what help us to stand against the wiles of the devil. You may not know what is going on in the lives of the people you are praying for but God does and the Holy Spirit will interpret your prayers to the Father. "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us..." Rom. 8:26
One thing that you can pray for is that those you are praying for will catch the vision; God has given us, of reaching the unreached people groups. The Great Commission Jesus gave us in Matt. 28:18-20 is the responsibility of all believers. Pray that those you are praying for will have the attitude of Paul when he wrote, "I am a debtor both to Greeks and barbarians, both to the wise and unwise... For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jews first and also for the Greeks." Rom. 1:14 & 16
Your prayers are making a difference so, "Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in do season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." Gal. 6:9
