Orin & Rosa Kidd

Orin and Rosa came to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ in 1971. At that time Orin was working as a forester with the United States Forest Service on the Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon.

From the very outset of their new faith in Christ, there was a strong desire to serve the Lord in a cross-cultural context amongst people who had not yet had the opportunity to hear the gospel. In order to prepare for cross-cultural ministry, Orin and Rosa attended Prairie Bible College from 1972 to 1976.

In 1977, following graduation from Prairie and linguistic training at the University of Washington, Orin and Rosa, along with their two sons, Orin Jr. and Joshua, left for Irian Jaya, Indonesia, (now West Papua) where they spent 22 years working with the Kimyal tribe in the Eastern Highlands. Orin spent most of those years in church planting, discipleship, and leadership development.

The last four and a half years on the field Orin served as Field Director. Since 1994, Rosa has been working on the Kimyal New Testament and finished the final book in February of 2008. She is now working on the final editing of the New Testament with the hopes of seeing it printed by the end of 2008. Rosa has also been involved in women's work and some literacy work. Although the Kidd's are now in the United States, they continue their involvement with the church in West Papua through regular visits.

Orin also served with World Team for 5 years as the Northwest Regional Director of a new ministry arm of World Team called ChurchLink. The focus of this ministry was serving local churches through building relationships, casting vision and providing resources for strategic impact locally and globally among the unreached people groups. Orin's teaching and preaching gifts, his deep love for the church, and 22 years of cross-cultural experience uniquely equipped him for this ministry.

After 30 years with World Team, Orin and Rosa resigned from the Mission to begin a new ministry role as the Pastor of World Mission, Evangelism, and Discipleship at Grace Bible Fellowship in Tangent, Oregon where they currently serve.
