My Dear Church Family

Again I am amazed at God's goodness and care. I rejoice in His timing. He is good all the time! I wanted to write to bring everyone up to date in case anyone missed the announcement that Ray Allen will be stepping in as your interim pastor. Ray and the elders agree this will be on an interim basis. God knows all things ahead of time. I trust you all see the hand of God in having Ray here at this time. You already know and love him and he loves you. He preaches the Word and you are being blessed. He is such a good man. I am so rateful to our loving Father.

A search committe has been formed, and they are moving forward in the process of finding a permanent replacement. Again I believe that they have been handpicked by God. This process will take time. I know transition is hard, but I believe you are all mature and will pray, work, and grow under Ray's leadership and be patient and supportive of the elders through this process.

You must pray and be on guard constantly. Remember we have an enemy, and he hates the church. He loves discord among believers. It destroys our witness. Without genuine love we have no witness. You have not been down this path befor as a church, but I believe this is an opportunity for God's glory to shine out from our body and from each of you. God has not brought us this far to let us down now. This is not my church, and this is not your church. This is God's church. Remember Christ is the head of the church.

And finally, I want to thank you for allowing me to be your pastor these many years. What a privilege and blessing God has given me, a simple farm boy. My dependency has been always upon Him, and He has never failed me. Everywhere I have gone I have been able tobrag about you, my people, when other pastors have complained (and have perhaps been envious, I might add.) Together we have been a beacon to our community, not perfect but always shining out the good news of the gospel of our precious Jesus.

You know I love you all and have always known you love me. One day you will have a new pastor. Love and support him as you have loved and supported me.

Please tak care of my family and precious wife. Without her support and sacrificial love I would not have made it through these many years.

With all my love,

Pastor Don

PS: I want you to know that the doctors have done all they can for me. I will be getting hospice soon. Thank you for all your prayers. Please don't stop now.
