May 7, 1939 - November 26, 2009Don was born in Albany to Donald L. Bayne Sr. and Mildred Frances (Sanders) Bayne. He lived in Halsey where he attended school and granduated in 1957. He then lived in the Albany and Tangent areas until his death. The only time he didn't live here was during the four years he attended Prairie Bible Institute, where he graduated in 1976. On March 19, 1960, Don married Carol Jean Adkins in Lebanon. Don's passion was preaching the Word and sharing the gospel of his Jesus. He was the pastor of Grace Bible Fellowship, previously known as Peoria Community Church, for 33 years. He was also on the KWIL and KHPE board, and brosdcast "Journeys in the Word" on KWIL. Don farmed and worked a dairy in the years prior to his graduation from Prairie Bible Institute. Don is survived by his mother, Mildred Bayne of Albany; wife Carol Bayne of Albany; children Donald Lee Bayne III of Albany, Cheryl Dean Perez of Tangent, Barbara Jo Heagy of Tangent and Kimberly Sue McLain of Albany; 10 grandchildren; and sister Sharon Hinck of San Ramon, Calif. He was preceded in death by his father. A viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fisher Funeral Home. A funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God, followed by fellowship at Grace Bible Fellowship in Tangent. A committal will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Willamette Memorial Park.
